Shining Star-CHAPTER ELEVEN
Kristin was sitting in the living room watching tv. She heard a knock on the door. When she opend it she saw Adrianne standing there crying. Kristin helped her bring her bags in. The two of them sat down on the couch.
"Adrianne, what happend?" Kristin asked.
"I broke up with AJ!" Adrianne cried.
Kristin hugged her sister-in-law, "Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry. Shh....calm down.... it's gonna be ok."
Adrianne continued, "I didn't want to. But if I stayed with him, Liz would be more upset than she already is. I can't do that to my best friend."
Just then, Kevin entered the house. He saw Adrianne on the couch crying heavily.
Kevin rushed over to her, "Adrianne, what's the matter?"
But Adrianne didn't want to tell him.
"Her and AJ broke up." Kristin whispered.
Kevin's eyes widend, "WHAT? Did that bastard hurt you? 'Cause if he did I swear I'll..."
"He didn't hurt me!!" Adrianne cried, "I broke up with him."
Kevin was suprized, "Why? I thought you two were happy."
"We were." Adrianne said, "I didn't want to break up with Alex. But I had to do it because I don't wanna hurt Liz anymore."
Kevin spoke again, "But..."
Adrianne stood up, "I don't wanna talk about it anymore Kev. Please, leave me alone!!!!"
Adrianne ran into the bathroom and locked the door.

AJ sat in the corner of his room. This was the first time in his life he had ever cried, REALLY cried. It felt like someone had ripped his heart out.
"This can't be happening to me." AJ said to himself, "Why did she do this? It must have been something I did. Damn it! Way to go Alex! You just lost the best thing that ever happend to you. And it's all your fault!!!"
AJ got up and began to repadidly punch his fist into the wall. He started to see blood dripping from his hand, but that didn't stop him. AJ continued doing this for another 15 minutes. Then he started breaking all the stuff around him. Everything from mirrors to vases.

Kevin knocked on the door, "C'mon Adrianne. You've been in there for 2 hours! You gota come out sometime."
"GO AWAY!" Adrianne shouted.
"Let me try." Kristin said softly, "Adrianne, it's me Kris, can I talk to you?"
Adrianne opend the door just enough to let Kristin in.
"I don't wanna talk about Alex." Adrianne said.
"We don't have to." Kristin replied, "I have an idea. We'll unpack your stuff, then we can stuff our faces with pizza and ice cream, and watch a sad movie."
"I'm sorry." Adrianne said, "I really don't feel like it."
Kristin smiled, "It's ok. I understand. But, if you ever wanna talk or just hang out, let me know."
"Ok" Adrianne said, "Please tell Kev to leave me alone though. He doesn't understand...."
"Of course he doesn't understand!" Kristin laughed, "He's a guy."
Adrianne unpacked her things. It felt weird being back in her old room. She wanted so badly to be back with AJ. His protective arms wrapped gently around her body.....
"Stop it!" Adrianne said to herself, "You're gonna make yourself more upset thinking like that."
Adrianne decided to call Liz and tell her.
"Hello"
"Well I hope you're happy Liz!"
"What the hell are you talking about Adrianne? Are you crying?"
"Of course I am! I broke up with AJ."
"You WHAT?"
"You heard me. That's what you wanted isn't it? So go ahead Liz, take him. AJ's all yours now."
With that being said, Adrianne hung up.
*FOUR DAYS LATER*
Brian and Nick stoped by Kevin's house. They heard what happend and wanted to see if Adrianne was ok.
"How is she?" Brian asked Kevin as they all sat in the dining room.
Kevin shook his head, "Not too good. She hasn't eaten in 4 days. She's just locked herself in her room. I swear this is getting to be just like..."
"Just like what?" Nick interuptted.
Brian was gonna tell Nick everything, but Kevin shook his head no.
"Nothing Nick." Brian said, "It's nothing you need to worry about."
For the first time in 4 days, Adrianne came out of her roo. She went down to the kitchen and got a glass of water. She felt a slight pain in her stomach, but decided to ignore it.
Adrianne could hear Kevin, Brian, and Nick talking in the dining room. She peeked through the door to see what was going on.
"Have you guys heard anything from AJ?" Kevin asked.
"No" Brian replied, "I tried calling but he wouldn't answer. When I went to his house, he refused to open the door. He's miserable."
"It's all Adrianne's fault." Nick said.
Brian looked at him, "Nick!! How can you say that?"
Nick spoke again, "It's true. She's the one that broke up with AJ."
Adrianne couldn't take it anymore. She walked into the room and threw her glass at Nick. Luckily, it missed and shattered against the wall.
"YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW THAT?" Adrianne screamed, "You think I don't regret what I did? I didnt want to break up with Alex. I'd give anything to take it back, but I can't. And by the way Nick, I don't appreciate it when people talk behind my back!"
Adrianne ran back up to her room. Nick followed her.
"I didn't mean that Adrianne." Nick said.
"I know you didn't." Adrianne replied.
Nick sat next to Adrianne on her bed, "I...I'll be your boyfriend if ya want."
Adrianne smiled, "That's really sweet of you Nick. But you know I'll never love you in that way. I love you like a brother. And I know you love me like a sister."
"Yeah" Nick said, "I'm really sorry about everything. Do you need a hug?"
Adrianne nodded yes.
Later that night after Brian and Nick had left, Adrianne finished unpacking. She came across a framed picture of her and AJ. She started remembering all the good times they had had.
Adrianne crawled into bed and started crying. She cried herself to sleep.
*A FEW HOURS LATER*
Adrianne woke up because of a peircing pain in her stomach. It felt like someone was ripping her stomach with a knife.
"KEVIN!" Adrianne screamed out in pain.
Kevin heard Adrianne. He quickly got his pants on and ran into his sisters room.
"Sweetie what's wrong?" Kevin asked, turning on a light.
"My stomach hurts!" Adrianne said.
Kevin walked over to Adrianne and pulled her covers off. He almost fell back in shock because of what he saw. Adrianne was laying in a pool of blood.
"OH MY GOD!" Kevin shouted, "Kristin, get in here. Adrianne, we gotta get you to the hospital." He picked Adrianne up and carried her out.
"What's going on?" Kristin asked.
"We need to go to the hospital." Kevin told her, "Adrianne's stomach hurts and she's bleeding all over the place."
Kristin drove them to the hospital while Kevin sat in the back with Adrianne. He also called the guys and told them what was going on. Everyone except for AJ. Adrianne had asked Kevin not to call him.
"OWWWW!!!" Adrianne screamed, "It hurts so much. Please make it stop Kev."
"I can't." Kevin said, stroking her hair gently, "I'm sorry. I wish I could trade places with you right now. We'll be at the hospital really soon."
Five minutes later, they arrived at the hospital. Kevin carried Adrianne inside.
"We need help!" Kevin shouted, "Please, somebody help us!"
At that moment, Brian, Nick, and Howie walked in.
"What's going on?" Brian asked.
"I've been trying to get help but nobody will listen." Kevin said.
"It hurts." Adrianne said weakly.
"I know it does sweetie." Kevin said, "We'll get you some help soon."
Finally, a couple of nurses came and put Adrianne on a bed on wheels.
"We'll need to get her to the emergency room immediatly." a nurse said.
They started rolling her down the hall, but Adrianne grabbed Kevin's arm.
"Please don't let them take me back there. I'm scared."
"It's ok." Kevin said, "They're just gonna see what's wrong. They won't hurt you."
"I'm scared of hospitals." Adrianne said, tears pouring out of her eyes, "You know why. Please Kev! Don't let them do this to me!!"
The nurses continued to roll Adrianne down the hall. But Adrianne started to struggle.
"NOOOOOO!!!!" Adrianne screamed, "Get away from me! LEAVE ME ALONE!!"
None of the nurses could hold Adrianne down. They had to call in 4 doctors. The doctors were forced to tie Adrianne down to the bed with straps.
"You're hurting her!" Kevin shouted.
"If we dont do this, she's going to hurt herself." a doctor explained.
They finally got Adrianne down to the emergency room.
"What was that all about?" Howie asked.
"She had a panic attack." Kevin explained, "She hasn't had one of those since she was 12."
"Now I know somethings wrong." Nick said, "We wanna know the truth. What's this big secret about Adrianne that you and Brian have been keeping from us?"
"Alright, I'll tell you." Kevin began, "After our Dad died, Adrianne became severly depressed. She even tried to kill herself once. She went to counseling for a few years and she's been on anti deppressants for the last 10 years. The reason she got so scared just know is because the last time she saw our Dad alive, was when he was being rolled down to the emergency room."
"Wow" Howie said.
"Does AJ know?" Nick asked.
"Yeah" Brian said, "He's known for a couple months now."
Howie was confused, "Why didn't you tell us?"
"Because Adrianne asked us not to." Kevin said, "She use to get teased all the time in school because of it. I guess she thought if you knew, you might think she was weird or something."
*THREE HOURS LATER*
A doctor came in the waiting room and said, "Which one of you is Adrianne's brother?"
Kevin stood up, "I am."
The doctor took Kevin aside, "I have the test results."
"And..." Kevin said.
The doctor looked up at him, "Adrianne wants to tell you herself. She's in room 127."
"Ok thanks." Kevin replied.
Kevin walked into the room. Adrianne looked up.
"Hi Kev. Come on in."
Kevin sat in a chair, "How are you feeling?"
"Better" Adrianne said, "But there's something I need to tell you..."
"What is it?" Kevin asked, "Please tell me you don't have cancer. Oh god...no. It was hard enough losing Dad. I cant lose you too." He started to cry.
"Kevin calm down." Adrianne said, "I don't have cancer."
Kevin was releived, "Then what is it?"
Adrianne took a deep breath, "I'm pregnant."
